This archive of news is a good cross section of news over the years as it relates to events surrounding wasp, hornet, bee and ant stings. There are numerous reports of actual deaths arising from insect stings as well as near misses but it should be remembered that these are still fortunately unusual events. There are usually between 4 and 12 deaths from insect stings a year in the UK and between 20 and 50 deaths a year in the United States.
